Le maître d'amour

Nourri de spiritualité universelle et de culture arabe, Nja Mahdaoui, artiste tunisien dont les œuvres ornent musées et lieux publics du monde entier, rend ici un très bel hommage à Ibn Arabi. L'immensité océanique de l'œuvre d'Ibn Arabi (1165-1240), surnommé dans la tradition soufie " le plus grand des maîtres ", se concentre tout entière autour d'un mot, un seul mot qui habite chacun de ses poèmes et de ses traités mystiques : amour. Amour sensuel des amants tendus vers l'union parfaite ; amour universel des êtres, qui, au-delà de toutes leurs différences religieuses, culturelles ou sociales, se rejoignent dans l'Unité transcendante ; amour à la fois douloureux et lumineux de l'âme en quête de son Bien-Aimé divin... Avec la complicité de son ami écrivain Rodrigo de Zayas, qui évoque ici la vie du " Maître d'amour ", Nja Mahdaoui nous fait revivre l'un des sommets de la culture méditerranéenne. Dans cet hymne pictural à l'Unité, la splendeur des ors le dispute à la maîtrise d'une géométrie sacrée, la puissance du trait contemporain bouleverse l'art traditionnel des arabesques, et la lettre, dépouillée de toute signification immédiate, nous livre son mystère à travers la forme pure.
